LWHS D210 Gives Community Leaders a Taste of Today's School
American Education Week was celebrated with 40 business, community and civic leaders from the Lincoln-Way communities. After a lunch prepared by the students, the visitors glimpsed what it's like to be in today's classroom.
American Education Week at Lincoln-Way High School District 210 was celebrated by inviting local business and community leaders to visit a school on April 17.
The visitors, according to Stacy Holland, LWHS D210 community relations director, got a hands-on opportunity to step back into high school. Only this time, they'd see it from the perspective of today's classroom where PowerPoint presentation, Smartphones and the like are tools to teach lessons on everything from economics to home economics.
"Lincoln-Way High School District 210 is proud of its educational programs," stated Supt. Lawrence A. Wyllie. "We believe it takes a commitment from every member of our community—from retired citizens and parents to business leaders and school board members- to make our schools the best they can be."
Forty business and community leaders, including library officials, village clerks, doctors, medical professionals, park districts representatives, area school board members, and Chambers of Commerce officials, attended the Community Leader event on April 17 at Lincoln-Way Central High School.
