Magic Of Mokena To Be On Full Display Saturday
Residents are invited to attend the Mokena Chamber of Commerce's tree walk and window walk along Front Street in Downton Mokena.

MOKENA, IL — The Mokena Chamber of Commerce is set to add a little bippity boppity beauty to the holiday season with its Magic of Mokena Tree and Window Walk from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday along Front Street in downtown Mokena.
"After last year's success of us putting this together last minute because of COVID, we weren't really sure what to expect," Fedora said. "But it was such a success with the amount of people who came out and so generously donated to the food pantry, to NAWS, Resale for Rescues and Tow Trucks for Tots that we thought that we'd do this again this year."
This free event starts at the corner of Front Street and Wolf road, where chamber business' decorated Christmas trees will be on display, twice as many as last year, said Mokena Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Melissa Fedora.

Attendees can vote for their favorites by placing non-perishable food, unwrapped toys, or pet food/supplies in the bins under the trees. Those items will be donated to Frankfort Township Food Pantry, Tow Trucks for Tots and NAWS Animal Shelter Mokena. Each item counts as one vote, Fedora said. There is no limit on how many donations/votes one can make, so people are invited to — as the old saying goes — vote early and often.
The sights and sounds of Christmas continue along Front Street. Resale for Rescues, Curtain Call Community Theatre, Chase Real Estate, Tribes Brewery, Bloom Art Studio and the former Paul E's Place will all have their store front windows decked out with holiday decorations, Fedora said. Attendees can stop by any of the businesses for photos, or just cruise by and enjoy the ambiance.

And people will not want to miss the chamber's office display, featuring Santa inside the chamber office and a replica of the famous Marshal Field's clock to give event goers the nostalgia of spending holidays wandering the displays in downtown Chicago. Visitors can take photos with Santa from behind the chamber office's window.
