Mokena District 159 Opens Kindergarten Registration For New Students
Families are now able to register students for the upcoming school year and can nominate district students, and others for a Galaxy Award.
MOKENA, IL — As Mokena District 159 students prepare for the stretch run of the school year, district officials are already planning for next year.
Online kindergarten enrollment is now open for students who are new to the district. Students who are currently enrolled in the district’s Early Start or Early Childhood programs are already enrolled and do not need to complete the enrollment process, officials said.
In April, registration for the upcoming school year will open up for all students, including incoming kindergarten students. Registration is the process of confirming student information and attendance for the 2023-2024 school year, and the collection of student fees. More information regarding registration will be sent out early next month, the district announced.

District administrators are also asking families to consider taking the 5 Essentials survey if they haven’t done so already. This survey, conducted by the University of Chicago, helps provide district officials with feedback on District 159 programs. Each year data from the survey helps inform District goals and the district’s school improvement plans. In order for the district to receive data from the survey, it must have at least 20 percent of families answer the survey at each school.
The survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete. Residents must use this link to access the survey.
