Pair Of Mokena Subdivision Home Break-Ins May Be Related, Police Say
Police said no break-ins have taken place since two homes within a couple blocks in the Old Castle South subdivision were burglarized.
MOKENA, IL — Mokena Police are still investigating a pair of residential break-ins that took place last week and officials are still attempting to determine whether they are related, police said on Monday.
Both of the burglaries took place in the Old Castle South subdivision on Thursday night, police said. The break-ins took place in the 11400 block of Wexford Drive and the 11200 block of Abbey Road between 7:30 and 11:30 p.m.
Police officials said that there have not been similar incidents that have taken place recently and are asking local residents to report any suspicious activities or vehicles that they may see in the area. Police officials are also asking residents to review the footage on their home security cameras that may help provide clues as to who may be involved in the break-ins.

Mokena Police Chief Brian Benton told Patch on Monday that no additional break-ins have taken place in the area since Thursday’s incidents. But Benton said that because of the proximity of the two break-ins and the manner in which the two homes were broken into, investigators believe that the two incidents may be related.
Anyone with any information regarding the incidents is asked to call the Mokena Police Department’s Investigations Division at (708) 479-3912.
