Colleagues/I am a special educator & they have made a huge impact on inclusion and accepting our students with open arms into their classrooms. They are a big part of their success story.

Why do you believe the teacher should be recognized or honored?
I teach special education and sometimes advocating and placing our students in the least restrictive environment can be tough. It becomes extremely difficult if the general educators are reluctant. Not only were Mrs. Klappauf & Mrs. Chevalier accepting to our students, they went above and beyond to ensure the students were successful. They even recommended additional classes with them. The students were given awards that they wouldn't have achieved on their own without their support. Inclusion is so important to me & I love special education students. I love when other staff members love on them, too! It is a feel good story with a very happy ending.
What's one thing you want everyone to know about the teacher?
Inclusion matters and as long as I have been teaching special education, I have never ran into such a loving, willing and accommodating team of teachers! I truly value their expertise in their field of work. I also value the knowledge they share with me to better support our special education students!
