Mokena Village Hall Open As Cooling Center

The U.S. National Weather service has issued a heat advisory for north central and northeast Illinois, and northwest Indiana.

MOKENA, IL — The U.S. National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory from noon-7 p.m. Tuesday and noon-7 p.m. Wednesday, with temperatures feeling like close to 110 degrees with the heat index in some areas.

The Village of Mokena's Village Hall, 11004 Carpenter St., is open as a cooling center; however, residents will have to call the Mokena Police Department nonemergency number to make arrangements to use the cooling center. That number is 708-479-3912.
