NAWS In Mokena To Honor Late Actress With Betty White Challenge

The fundraiser benefits the no-kill shelter, while also encouraging and teaching others how to set up similar fundraisers for themselves.

MOKENA, IL — On what would be Betty White's 100th birthday, Jan. 17, animal welfare organizations around the country are rallying behind White's lifelong crusade to help our animal friends.

NAWS in Mokena is scheduled to launch its own fundraising efforts in honor of White, and help others to do the same. Called the "#BettyWhiteChallenge for NAWS," the fundraiser allows NAWS supporters to either donate directly to the challenge, or create their own fundraiser to share with their networks in order to further spread the word about animal welfare, said NAWS Board President Jeannine Huck.

"Our thoughts are that raising funds for animals in need is definitely a wonderful tribute to Betty White's legacy," Huck said. "But this is also an incredible opportunity to maybe take it just a step further by providing others with the tools to create their own fundraiser and personally share the message about the importance of Betty White's work, creating even more awareness for animal welfare and NAWS."
