Noonan Elementary Academy Takes Second at Academic Bowl

On Tuesday, October 21, 2025, Noonan Elementary Academy participated in the Providence Catholic High School Academic Bowl. The Academic Bowl consisted of over two hundred 7th and 8th-grade students hailing from more than 16 different public and private schools. The students competed individually and as a team in the following areas: Language Arts, Social Studies, Science, Mathematics, and Geography. Of the schools that participated, Noonan took 2nd place in the 8th-grade team category and received three individual trophies. “I could not be prouder as I watched Noonan receive four trophies that evening,” said Mr. Joseph Dunn, Principal of Noonan.

Noonan individual trophy winners were Andrew Lacny, 2nd Place Geography (8th Grade), Ameila Welch 3rd Place Science (8th Grade), and Zachary Welch 3rd Place Mathematics (8th Grade).

Noonan brought eight 8th grade students to showcase their many talents. The 8th-grade team consisted of Sawyer Aceves, Andrew Lacny, Isabelle Markionni, Emmaline Mueller, Graysen Pionke, Michael Stefancic, Amelia Welch, and Zachary Welch. The team missed first place overall by only two points to Conrady Middle School, which has a total 8th grade pool of over 300 students while Noonan has 18.
