Obituary: William Earl Reiter
William Reiter, a Vietnam War veteran and longtime mechanic who loved his family, friends, and the Minnesota Vikings passed away at age 72.
MOKENA, IL – William Earl Reiter passed away on March 20 at the age of 72.
William Reiter was born on January 14th, 1951 in Tyler, Minnesota. He was the son of Earl and Ruth (Collins) Reiter.
William is survived by his daughter Angela Reiter, his stepchildren Thomas and Meredith (Miller) Moran, Matthew and Julie (Vladika) Moran, and Max Moran, and grandchildren Jordan, Taylor, Sarah, Oscar, Jude, and Lou, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Bill served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, stationed in Laos. He was a lifelong mechanic who took great pride in his work. He loved spending time with family and friends, working with high-quality tools, and watching Nascar and the Minnesota Vikings. He could usually be found in his garage with a frosty beverage in hand and his music cranked up.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Ruth Reiter, wife Judith (Pope) Reiter, daughter Michelle (Reiter) Burch, brother Thomas Reiter, Sr., and sister Carol Hutchins.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on May 27 at Yunker Park Red Barn (10824 LaPorte Rd. in Mokena). Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to noon with a Celebration of Life to follow from 12-12:30 p.m. and lunch from 12:30-2 p.m.
