The June 7 Relay for Life Frankfort-Mokena attracted supporters, donors and survivors.

Relay for Life Frankfort-Mokena raised nearly $90,000 for the American cCancer Society to conduct research to put an end to the often times deadly disease.

The 12-hour event, held June 7 at Lincoln-Way East High School, 201 Colorado Ave., attracted nearly 400 participants, including donors, teams and survivors.

"The event helps spread cancer awareness, celebrate the lives of survivors, remember those who lost their lives to cancer and unite a community in the fight against cancer," said Amy Jo Steinbruecker, spokesperson for the American Cancer Society.
