MOKENA, IL — Village officials are expecting the effects of a repaving job at the Hickory Creek Metra lot to be minimal to commuters when work is slated to begin in June.

Repaving will take place in the eastern half of the parking lot after the village board recently awarded the bid to Gallagher Asphalt, assistant village manager Greg Anderson said. A little more than 50 percent of the lot will remain available for commuters to park in, which Anderson said should provide adequate room for those who need to leave their cars in the lot during the workday.

The work is tentatively scheduled to begin in June and the construction is slated to be completed by the end of the month, Anderson said.
