Rescued From Dog Fighting Ring, Pup Needs Cash For Surgery

MOKENA, IL — A pup in need of help is closer than ever to getting it, thanks largely to donations and the hard work of the NAWS Humane Society of Illinois.

Victoria was rescued from a pit bull fighting ring and needs ACL surgery.

Weeks ago, her outlook wasn't so optimistic. "[S]he is in a lot of pain, and now we don’t know what to do," the human society said on their GoFundMe.

Through her pain, though, she was clearly appreciative of her newfound life free of abuse.

But, on July 30, Victoria got some great news. Nearly enough funds had been raised for her to have the much-needed ACL surgery.

What's more, she's got a foster home lined up to help her rehabilitate after surgery, NAWS told Patch.
