Small Batch Beer Fest Back At Crafted, Small Street Market Debuts

MOKENA, IL — Crafted 1979 this weekend brings two unique events to the Mokena community, combining local artistry, live acoustic music, food options, and beverages. Kicking off Friday, Sept 13 is the inaugural Crafted Small Street Market, followed by the much-anticipated 6th Annual Crafted Small Batch Beer Festival on Saturday, Sept. 14. Both events promise memorable experiences for art enthusiasts and beer lovers.

Crafted Small Batch Beer Festival

Returning for its sixth year, the Crafted Small Batch Beer Festival takes place Saturday, Sept. 14 from 2 to 6 p.m. on Meridian Court, directly across from Crafted 1979. Tickets are priced at $80, which includes exclusive glassware, unlimited pours, and what Crafted 1979 describes as "four hours of the most unique beer festival around."

Beer aficionados will have the chance to explore over 40 one-of-a-kind brews, each handpicked for its rarity and exceptional taste. From Revolution’s indulgent Imperial Death Marsh, a bourbon barrel-aged oatmeal stout, to the smooth and refreshing Landbier Pilsner by Goldfinger, there’s something to satisfy every palate.

Tickets can be purchased online and picked up at Crafted 1979’s bottle shop and taproom, located at 19200 S. LaGrange Rd, Suite E.

Crafted Small Street Market

A new addition this year, the Crafted Small Street Market will be held Friday, Sept. 13 from 6 to 9 p.m., also on Meridian Court. Curated by John E. Streetz of the Streetz Artz Alliance, this free event will showcase over three dozen local artists and small businesses, offering a wide range of handmade goods and crafts.

Attendees can expect a family-friendly evening, complete with artist booths, food from Cousins Maine Lobster Truck, and live acoustic music. Vendors include local favorites such as Folklore Coffee, Libby McArthur Art, Crafty Creations, and many more.

"This is the first Friday night market I’ve ever curated, and I’m hopeful the community will enjoy the diverse mix of artists and makers," said John Streetz, of the Streetz Artz Alliance.

In addition to vendors planned for the event, Crafted 1979 owners plan to offer an Old-Fashioned, Mule, and margarita created in-house, owner Denver Worker said. Seltzers and ciders will also be served, in addition to Brothership Brewing bringing IPAs and their Oktoberfest beer.
