Lightning Strike Causes Home Fire In Mokena: Official
A wave of strong thunderstorms that swept through the area Tuesday afternoon was responsible for a home fire in the Village.
MOKENA, IL — A home fire that was reported Tuesday in the 21000 block of St. James Court in Mokena was caused by a lighting strike to the home's roof, according to a Frankfort Fire Protection District Assistant Chief Paul Kinsella.
Frankfort FPD responded to the fire at approximately 3:25 p.m. Tuesday afternoon and had the fire out by 3:40 p.m., according to Kinsella.
No injuries were reported in the fire.
