'Sunny Dayz' Market To Spotlight Local Businesses, Support Food Pantry

MOKENA, IL — A market featuring more than a dozen vendors is set to shine in Mokena, in an effort to spotlight and support local businessess.

The Sunny Dayz Localz Market, planned for June 9, encourages attendees to "discover the heartbeat of our community."

"This will be a vibrant celebration of community and local talent," organizers told Patch.

The market is a collaboration of local minds, featuring 16 amazing local businesses showcasing their products including honey, handmade jewelry, dog supplies, baked goods, natural wellness, produce, sauces, and more. Live entertainment will also be provided by Isabelle Thomas.

"Our goal for this market is to bring the community together one handmade or homegrown item at a time, while also contributing to our local food pantry ensuring no one in our community goes hungry," said Misty Nelson, owner of Sunkissed Greenz.

The event is set for June 9, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Yunker Barn, 10858 W. La Porte Rd. in Mokena.

Admission is free, but guests are asked to bring a non-perishable food item for donation to the Frankfort Food Pantry.
