Wolf Road Over I-80 Bridge Opens Friday: PT Ferro

MOKENA, ILLINOIS — After months of waiting, the day is almost here: Construction company P.T. Ferro announced that the Wolf Road bridge over I-80 will open to traffic Friday.

"Tomorrow is the day," the company said on Facebook, adding that while some minor work still needs to be done next week, the bridge will open Friday afternoon.

Last summer, Wolf Road was slated to be closed at the bridge between Mokena and Orland Park for several months last year for concrete work, Patch reported in July 2022. But in September, the bridge was reopened as supply chain issues temporarily paused the project.

Work resumed in March 2023, prompting the closure of Wolf Road between 183rd and 187th streets.

The $4.7 million project was to replace the existing bridge with a new, wider structure, install new storm sewers, resurface the road and add new landscaping, IDOT said.
