Woman And Children Flee, Man Surrenders After Barricade Situation At Mokena Home: Sheriff
The barricade situation unfolded as sheriff's deputies responded to a domestic call at 187th and Marjorie Parkway.
MOKENA, IL — A man surrendered to police following a barricade situation that unfolded at a Mokena residence in the early morning hours Wednesday, the Will County Sheriff's Office said.
Deputies were called to the 18700 block of Marjorie Parkway in Mokena for a domestic violence call involving a reported armed and barricaded subject. Deputies learned that the victim and her three children had safely fled the residence.
A man in the home had threatened violence, the sheriff's office said, and weapons may have been involved.

Sheriff's deputies established a perimeter, and a reverse 911 was issued advising residents within a two-block radius to shelter in place. Sheriff’s Office negotiators and SWAT personnel worked to de-escalate the situation.
At approximately 5:20 a.m., the man peacefully surrendered to members of the Will County Sheriff's Office and was seen by medical professionals at the location of the incident. He was later transported to the Will County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division for further questioning.
