Rock Island firefighters respond to apartment fire (ourquadcities.com) — Moline firefighters helped Rock Island crews knock down an apartment fire at the Cody Apartments Monday morning, where flames were contained to a single second-floor unit. No residents or firefighters were injured, but one person was displaced and is receiving Red Cross assistance while investigators work to determine the cause.

3. East Moline traffic stop ends in 2 arrests, police say (kwqc.com) — A Monday afternoon traffic stop in nearby East Moline ended with two people arrested, one for driving with a suspended license and another on an outstanding warrant. Police say the stop on Morton Drive briefly drew bystanders who interfered before additional officers restored order. Authorities have not yet released further details as the case remains under investigation.

Scots Men's & Women's Basketball Teams Get Weekend Wins (977wmoi.com) — Two Monmouth College basketball standouts from Moline, Kyle Taylor and Averi Rangel, helped power weekend wins for the Scots men’s and women’s teams. Taylor hit double figures and climbed Monmouth’s career steals and assists lists, while Rangel’s clutch three-pointers fueled a big second-half comeback against Dominican.
