1 Dead In Montgomery House Fire: Oswego Fire Dept
A pet was also found dead inside the home during the early morning fire.
MONTGOMERY, IL — One person was found dead, along with a pet, after the Oswego fire department responded to a fire early Sunday in Montgomery, fire officials said.
At 6:27 a.m., KenCom 911 dispatched Oswego firefighters to an outside smoke investigation. Upon arrival, fire crews found a working structure fire and began an interior attack to bring the blaze under control.
During a search, crews found one victim dead in the home, along with a pet, according to a news release.

Once the fire was knocked down, crews worked to ensure it was completely extinguished and to prevent rekindling. Crews were still on the scene as of late Sunday morning, the release said.
No firefighters were hurt. The house sustained significant fire damage and is uninhabitable, officials said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Oswego Fire Protection District, MABAS Division 15 Fire Investigation Team, the state fire marshal, Kendall County Sheriff's Department and Kendall County Coroner's Office.
The Aurora, Plainfield and Naperville and Sugar Grove fire departments provided mutual aid at the scene, and the Bristol Kendall Fire Protection District provided coverage as crews fought the blaze.
"The Oswego Fire Protection District extends its condolences to the victim's family during this difficult time," the district said in a release.
