Assistant Principal Named At Nicholson Elementary School In Montgomery

MONTGOMERY, IL — A new assistant principal has been brought on board at Nicholson Elementary School in Montgomery.

The West Aurora School District 129 Board of Education approved Catherine Orin's appointment during its regular board meeting June 2.

Orin comes to District 129 from Kaneland School District 302, where she serves as a multi-tiered systems of support coordinator. In the role, she leads the development and implementation of tiered academic and behavioral supports by analyzing student data, facilitating problem-solving meetings, and coordinating interventions to meet students' needs, according to a news release.

Earlier in her career, Orin spent nine years working as an elementary teacher in Plainfield Community Consolidated School District 202, where she was recognized as Educator of the Year for her commitment to student success. She also served on the district's Rising Star Principal Committee to contribute to school improvement planning.

Orin earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Indiana Wesleyan University and a master's degree in education administration from Northern Illinois University.
