Boy, 10, Killed After Car Hits Him In Montgomery: PD
The boy was crossing Route 30 when a car hit him, Montgomery police said.

MONTGOMERY, IL — A boy, 10, was killed after he was hit by a car July 31 on Route 30 in Montgomery, according to the Montgomery Police Department and Cook County Medical Examiner.
The boy, of Montgomery, was pronounced dead at 1:55 a.m. Aug. 3 at Loyola University Medical Center, according to the medical examiner, who identified him as Vicente Pabon.
Montgomery police responded at 7:55 p.m. to the area around Route 30 and Horseman Trail. The initial call was regarding cardiac arrest, but KenCom later advised the incident was a pedestrian-versus-car crash, officials said in an update Monday.

The car was westbound on Route 30 when it struck the boy, who was crossing the street from a local business in the 1900 block of Baseline Road.
Paramedics took Pabon to Rush Copley Medical Center before the boy was airlifted to Loyola hospital.

“The Montgomery Police Department extends its deepest condolences to Vincente’s family and friends,” officials said Monday.
Route 30 was closed in both directions between Orchard Road and Horseman Trail after the vehicle struck the pedestrian, police said in a Facebook post at 8:15 p.m. July 31. Route 30 remained closed until 12:10 a.m. Aug. 1, according to an updated post.
Montgomery police continue investigating the crash.
