Dear Editor,
On Oct. 11, the Montgomery Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) and the Business Climate and Enhancement Committee (BCEC), in conjunction/partnership with the village of Montgomery held their first commercial and retail bus tour. It was a huge success, and everyone is excited to do another.
The morning started at Village Hall, with a warm welcome from Village President Marilyn Michelini and State Representative Kay Hatcher. A light breakfast was available, which included fresh fruit, bagels and muffins complimented by coffee and water. The group then left Village Hall and walked to the corner building on Mill and River street.

Roger Blomgren greeted the group and was “excited to see such a large crowd!"
"Wow," he laughed. "I may have to break this group into two. I never expected such a large crowd."

After visiting this building, the next series of buildings were drive byes. The bus then stopped by “Harmony Hills." Chris Kappos was also excited to see and meet the group. Over 22 properties were highlighted on the tour/map. A variety of new opportunities were also introduced. It was an eventful morning. Most people had no idea how large Montgomery actually is.
More than 40 people participated in this event. This included property owners, staff and a series of interested parties throughout the Montgomery area. Jerad, Charlene and Jamie took turns narrating on the bus. Other property brokers/owners also chimed in when we drove by their properties.
Each participant was provided with a CD and a packet which showed each property listing along with a series of data compiled by the village of Montgomery and the MEDC.
One of the last buildings featured in the tour, included 200 Webster, which is where the MEDC is currently operating. With a lease expiring at the end of the year, it was a great opportunity to highlight this prime office space.
Those who then wanted to join the group for lunch, walked over to Grays Mill for a nice lunch.
Special thanks to the Committee and all of the volunteers who helped make this event such a huge success.
