Chubchev was taken to Rush Copley Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries shortly after, officials said.

Both directions of Orchard Road between Route 30 and Aucutt Road were closed for several hours while Montgomery police and assisting agencies investigated. The closure caused significant congestion in the area, and drivers were urged to find alternate routes until the roadway reopened around 7:15 p.m.

The crash remains under investigation. The driver in the car that was hit is "cooperating fully" with the investigation, officials said.

Police are asking any eyewitnesses to come forward and contact Detective Sergeant Gregory Mayyou at mayyou@ci.montgomery.il.us or 331-212-9091.
