Missing Montgomery Man, 19, Found Dead In Plano Pond: Coroner

The 19-year-old was found unresponsive in the water in the wooded area behind the 700 block of East South Street in Plano.

MONTGOMERY, IL — A 19-year-old Montgomery man who was previously reported missing was found dead in a pond in Plano Monday afternoon, according to the Kendall County Coroner's Office.

Rolf was found unresponsive in the water in the wooded area behind the 700 block of East South Street in Plano, and the coroner was alerted around 3:40 p.m. Monday, officials said.

Officials identified the man as Daniel E. Rolf, of South Railroad Street. Preliminary findings indicate his cause of death as "a probable drowning," according to the coroner.

Deputies pronounced him dead at the scene following an initial investigation.

A forensic autopsy was performed Tuesday to determine the preliminary cause of death. Final autopsy results are pending further investigation and toxicology testing, officials said.
