MONTGOMERY, IL — Montgomery residents will be able to once again shop at Aldi in the village — this time in a renovated store. The affordable grocery destination will reopen to customers at 9 a.m. Nov. 18.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will make the store's reopening official at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday.

Part of the remodeling at the store, at 2050 Mayfield Drive, includes an improved layout and additional refrigeration to accommodate an expanded fresh and convenient food selection, officials said in a news release Monday. The interior, built with environmentally friendly materials, also has open ceilings and natural lighting.

The renovation of the store, which closed starting Oct. 11, is part of an ongoing initiative at the company to remodel and expand existing Aldi stores nationwide.

Aldi officials said customers will still find low prices and a streamlined shopping experience but will notice the elevated design.
