Montgomery Police Stepping Up St. Patty's Patrols
With the help of a state grant, the force will be on the look out for drunken drivers and seat belt violators.

The Montgomery Police Department will step up patrols through the St. Patrick's Day weekend with help from an Illinois Department of Transportation grant.
The campaign will run through Sunday and police will be on extra patrol for seat belt and DUI violations, according to the village's website.
"We stand committed to reducing the number of serious traffic related injuries and deaths through our traffic enforcement efforts," the village site says. "Please help us accomplish this goal by buckling up when you drive, putting your cell phone down, and designating a sober driver if you have been drinking."
