Montgomery Resident Wants Answers on 911 Dispatch Decisions

Send your letter to the editor to montgomery@patch.com.

As a resident of the Village of Montgomery, I am curious why Sugar Grove decided to seek dispatching services elsewhere, and why the senior leadership in Montgomery didn't eagerly work to keep Sugar Grove a part of Montgomery's Dispatch services.

I have lived in the area my entire life. I have been a village resident for 11 years. It cost the tax payers and the village a lot of money to build the new police station and include a state of the art dispatch center.

What will become of the dispatch center? The fate of the 8 dispatchers should be considered, as they are the ones who have been loyal to our village; it's comforting to know they are there, they are village residents, this is their community.

Dispatching is a difficult job, they need to know someone is looking out for them; as they are ALWAYS looking out for the well being of our community.

In the event of having to call 911, I don't want my call routed to Yorkville; where it may be answered by someone unfamiliar with Montgomery's geography.

So, to Mr. Brolley, I would know a difference. So I am asking Chief Meyers, "why did Sugar Grove sever the relationship?"
