The Montgomery Police Department reports New Year's week 2018 crime in the area.

Jan. 1

Driving under the influence (DUI)

The Montgomery Police Department said 39-year-old Shawn Salinas, of the 700 block of 15th Street, Peru, was arrested and cited for driving under the influence after he was involved in a single-vehicle rollover accident while on Jericho Road, near Barnes Road just before 5 a.m. Tuesday. Police said Salinas sustained minor injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital where he was charged with DUI, as well as not having current insurance and improper lane usage. He was released with at the hospital with a pending court date at the Kane County Courthouse, according to police.

Dec. 30

Unlawful use of a weapon

Montgomery police said officers responded to the area of Adam Avenue at Brian Court just after 1:45 a.m. Sunday for a report of a person who was threatened with a handgun. Police said when officers arrived they were given a description of the suspect and were able to find him while searching the neighborhood. Police said the suspect was identified as 36-year-old James S. Tucker of Fort Campbell, Tennessee. Tucker was arrested and charged with unlawful use of a weapon, and was released on bond with a future court date in Yorkville, according to police.

Warrant arrest during unrelated incident report

Montgomery police said Victor H. Rodriguez, 36, of San Antonio Texas, was arrested just after 4:30 p.m. Saturday on a warrant out of Elgin Police Department for obstruction after he came to the Montgomery Police Department to report an unrelated incident. Police said Rodriguez posted bond and was released with a future court date.

Robbery case probation violation

William Woods, 21, of the 1100 block of Mikes Road, Joliet, was arrested on a warrant out of Cook County just before 2:30 a.m. Friday, for a probation violation in a robbery case. Police said Woods was arrested in the area of South Broadway Avenue and Hartway Drive during an investigation of a suspicious vehicle. According to police, Woods was unable to post bond and was taken to Kane County Jail to await extradition to Cook County Jail.

Failure to appear

Montgomery police said 38-year-old Jessie A. Valenciano, of the 400 block of Maple Avenue, Aurora, was arrested just after 12 a.m. Thursday on a warrant out of Kane County for failure to appear on a traffic offense. Police said Valenciano was arrested in the 2000 block of Orchard Road and was taken to MPD where he posted bond and was released with a pending court date.

Driving while license suspended, other citations

Montgomery police said Holly Keasler, of the 700 block of Jackson Street, Aurora, was arrested and cited just after 8:20 p.m. Wednesday in the 1500 block of Douglas Road for driving while her license was suspended, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration. Police said Keasler was released at the scene with a pending court date in Aurora.

No valid driver's license

Patricia S. Rodriguez, 38, was arrested and cited just after 10:30 p.m. Wednesday at Orchard Road and Rochester Drive for not having a valid driver's license and for operating a motor vehicle with no insurance, Montgomery police said. Patricia was arrested during a traffic stop, police said, adding that she posted the required bond and was released on-scene with a pending court date in Aurora.
