Shooting On Route 31 'Does Not Appear To Be Random': Montgomery PD
Police found a man looking for treatment for an apparent gunshot wound at a local hospital early Sunday morning.

MONTGOMERY, IL — A shooting that occurred early Sunday morning near the intersection of Route 31 and Watkins Avenue "does not appear to be random," according to Montgomery police.
In an email Wednesday afternoon, Detective Sergeant Gregory Mayyou told Patch that Montgomery officers were dispatched at about 4:48 a.m. Sunday to assist Kendall County sheriff's deputies in investigating a report of shots fired within village limits.
Mayyou said authorities located a man seeking treatment for an apparent gunshot wound at an area hospital. The injury was not life-threatening.

No suspect is in custody as of Wednesday afternoon, police said, but the shooting remains under investigation.
