MONTGOMERY, IL — A juvenile faces charges after police say they brought a lookalike weapon to a local elementary school, Montgomery police said.

Police said they responded to a report that a student was in unauthorized possession of a weapon on school grounds on Tuesday at Lakewood Creek Elementary School, 2301 Lakewood Creek Drive in Montgomery.

School administration determined the student brought a "look-alike BB gun" to school and was showing it to classmates. The weapon was recovered without incident, according to police.
