West Towns Chorus continues 40 years of Christmas tradition
West Towns Chorus presents Annual Christmas Show - Together Again at Christmas - in Naperville
βWhat Can You Get a Wookiee for Christmas?β is possibly a serious question β for some people β while also being the title of a song to be sung at the West Towns Chorus annual Christmas Show this year. West Towns Chorus, a menβs Barbershop Chorus in the DuPage area, will be presenting its traditional mix of secular Christmas songs in the first half and religious ones in the second half when it performs in a new venue this year.
Under the Direction of Carrie Marcotte of Bolingbrook, West Towns, the 2021 Illinois District Barbershop Chorus Champion, will present βTogether Again at Christmas.β This newest entry is the latest in what has been a four-decade-long tradition of West Towns presenting its signature mix of traditional and new Barbershop harmonies. The script was written by member Dave Shepherd, also of Bolingbrook, with a somewhat humorous first half, followed by a more reverent second half focusing on the birth of Jesus.
Traditional favorites such as βJingle Bellsβ and βWinter Wonderlandβ will be included in the first half, while other audience-pleasers such as βJoy to the Worldβ and βSilent Nightβ will be among the tunes featured in the second half.
