122 MPH Police Chase From Naperville To Oak Brook Ends In Woman's Arrest
A woman was taken into custody after police pursued a car from Naperville to Oak Brook on I-88, according to police.
NAPERVILLE, IL — A woman faces felony charges after police say she led police on a chase, hitting speeds of more than 120 mph between Naperville and Oak Brook on I-88 Saturday.
Imira Williams, 22, of the 600 block of Randall Road, Aurora, was charged with aggravated fleeing and eluding and misdemeanor aggravated assault in connection with the incident.
Naperville police say they spotted a gun near the center console of a car that was parked at Bowlero, 1515 Aurora Ave. around 1:18 a.m. Williams and a male, whom prosecutors did not identify, are accused of smoking cannabis as they got into the car.

According to police, officers asked the man to step out of the car, and he complied, but began to flee on foot. Williams is accused of then driving away in the car and leading police on a chase. Police say Williams turned the car around and drove toward a squad car.
Williams is accused of disregarding seven stoplights en route to I-88, where she was accused of reaching speeds of 122 mph. She eventually pulled over and was taken arrested by the DuPage County Sheriff's Office before being held in Naperville.

“The alleged conduct of Ms. Williams demonstrates that she has absolutely no concern for public safety or for the safety of the officer involved in the pursuit,” DuPage County Sheriff's Attorney Robert Berlin said in a news release. “Judge Coco’s order to detain her pre-trial sends the message that in DuPage County we will not tolerate this type of dangerous behavior that poses a threat not only to the driver, but also puts the police officers involved and motoring public at great risk.”
Williams is being held without pre-trial release and is set to be in court again on Dec. 26.
