5 Ways to Spend President's Day
Parents have some fun with your kids as they enjoy the day off. Leave the chores for another day.

President's Day is a great time to have an adventure with the kids. Rather than running around trying to get a bunch of errands done. Instead, plan a play date with your kids.
Catch a movie
AMC Showplace 16 has a number of kid-friendly films including Beauty and the Beast 3D (G), The Secret World of Arriety (G), Star Wars: Episode 1 – The Phantom Menace (PG) and Journey 2: The Mysterious Island (PG).
Cook with your kid
Does your child enjoy cooking or love food? Why not buy them their own special kiddie cookbook or find some kid-friendly recipes on the internet and make a mess in the kitchen. Pick a fun recipe that will make them feel like the best chef ever.

Craft away
Stop by Michael’s and pick up a fun project to create. Maybe be free flowing and purchase paints and paper, or find a more involved project for your child’s age. Either way, you’ll have fun and have a keepsake to remember the day with.
Skate away
Schools out and it’s time to play. Why not be a kid with the kids. Put on some skates and enjoy an afternoon of skating at the Rocket Ice Arena. The kids can skate with Lincoln from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Dine out
At Colonial Café kids eat for free with an adult on Mondays through the month of February. After you’ve watched a movie, skated or crafted, why not stop for dinner. What could be better than not having dishes to wash? Spending time with the kids!
