Adopt Me! Fiona, Penny, Scrunchie and Keeley
Looking for a pet to help keep you warm this winter. These are just a few of the adoptable pets ready to snuggle with some new owners.
Fiona is a very petite 3-year-old domestic short-haired torti who has been at A.D.O.P.T. since August of 2011. Her owner moved "out of the country" and had to give her up. She is a sweet aloof girl who has so much love to give once she warms up to you. She is spayed, up to date on shots and prefers a home with no dogs. She can be found in the Sun Room.
Penny was adopted from years ago and then dropped off at Chicago Animal Contol by her owners and we took her back. Penny is in need of a home that will keep her for the rest of her years. She is an 8-year-old miniature pinscher. Penny enjoys curling up on the couch with people in the evenings, but chooses to sleep in her own bed at night. She is very good in the house. She loves to go on long walks and to chase squirrels in the yard. Penny would do best in a home with older or no children.
For more information about any of the cats and dogs we have available for adoption, please contact A.D.O.P.T. Pet Shelter at 630-355-2299. The shelter is a no-kill, nonprofit, animal shelter at 420 Industrial Drive, Naperville. Visit us at www.adoptpetshelter.org.
Scrunchie is 1-½-year old brown tabby domestic shorthair who came to when her family moved and couldn’t take her with. She can be a little bit shy but once she gets to know you she loves giving and receiving affection. She’s been hanging out with the staff here in the lobby and enjoys acting as the cutest, furriest paperweight in town. Kids in Scrunchie’s new home should be old enough to understand that she’ll need a little bit of time to adjust to a new surrounding. She wouldn’t mind living with other cats and is fine around calm dogs. Do you have room in your heart to give this kitty a home for the holidays?

Keeley is a 6-month-old retriever-mix that was found wandering alone in Macoupin County. This sweet, young dog can be a little weary of new situations at first, but quickly warms up and loves to play! Because Keeley is still very much a puppy, her new family should have enough time to train her and socialize her. She likes playing with kids, but can be nervous around very little, unpredictable children. Keeley would sure love to spend her first holiday season with a caring family; could you make this puppy’s wish come true?
More dogs and cats are available at the Naperville Area Humane Society. All the animals have been examined for health and temperament, started on their vaccines and microchipped. Diehl Rd. in Naperville or online at www.napervilleareahumanesociety.org.
