Aurora Woman Pleads Guilty In 2020 Naperville Looting: Report
Vanessa C. Grimes, 32, was sentenced to probation and 30 hours of community service after admitting to stealing from a local Pandora store.
NAPERVILLE, IL — An Aurora woman who was one of 11 people arrested in 2020 and charged with looting stories in Naperville’s downtown district pleaded guilty on Monday and was put probation.
Vanessa C. Grimes was sentenced to two years of second-chance probation and was ordered to perform 30 hours of community service after pleading guilty, the Daily Herald reported.
As part of a plea agreement, Grimes, 32, pleaded guilty to a charge in connection with her stealing items from a Naperville Pandora store on Main Street in June 2020. Under the agreement, charges linked to previous charges in connection with Grimes stealing clothing from Chico’s on West Jefferson Avenue we were dropped, the newspaper reported.

As part of the deal, charges levied against Grimes will be dropped once she completes the probation. Naperville Police said that the 11 people were initially arrested in 2020 in looting that came after George Floyd died at the hands of Minneapolis police officers.
