Breed: Chihuahua

Background: The duo came to A.D.O.P.T. because one of the family members had allergies.  They have been at the shelter for one month.

Personality:  These two are the friendliest Chihuahuas you’ll ever meet!  They love each other as much as they love other people.  With that said, we’d like to adopt them out together.  Their happiness is contagious.  They are active and playful and love to go on walks.  Si Mui is the darker colored pup while Emmy looks a little fuller figured. These two are quite the pair.

Evergreen

Age: Almost 2 years old

Breed: Female domestic short hair, brown tiger

Background: Transfer from Naperville Animal Control - at A.D.O.P.T. since December, 2011.

Personality: Evergreen is a perky little lady who prefers the company of people but will tolerate other cats - however, don't expect her to love them.  If you can offer her as much love as she has to offer you - come visit her in the Sun Room.  I guarantee you will fall in love with this petite ball of fire.

Adoption Fee: $100

Other: All animals at A.D.O.P.T. are vet checked, spayed or neutered, micro-chipped and are up to date on age related vaccines.

Where to find these pets:  Please contact A.D.O.P.T. Pet Shelter at 630-355-2299.   The shelter is a no-kill, nonprofit, animal shelter at 420 Industrial Drive, Naperville.  Visit us at www.adoptpetshelter.org.

Poppy

Poppy is a 6-month-old female Chihuahua mix.  She was surrendered as an unwanted gift and is now looking for a forever home.  She is affectionately called “Pop-Pop” at the shelter because of her fun-loving and very playful ways.  She loves to snuggle and soak up as much attention as she can get from everyone that stops by for a visit.  She would need to be the only dog in her house, but would be good with cats.  She can be a little on the nervous side and a home with kids would not be the best fit for her.  Stop by for a visit.  Poppy might just be the perfect fit for you.

Hannah

Hannah is a 2-year-old female domestic shorthair “tortie” who found her way to our shelter from another shelter due to lack of space.  She is a very loving and affectionate girl who would be good with kids and other cats.  She might also do well with a very calm dog.  She enjoys being petted and sitting on laps.  She is currently hanging out in the front lobby as an official office greeter.  If you are looking for a new addition to add to your family, stop by soon.  Hannah will melt your heart.

More dogs and cats are available at the Naperville Area Humane Society.  All the animals have been examined for health and temperament, started on their vaccines and microchipped.  They are spayed or neutered at adoption.  Hours are 5 to 8 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays, 1 to 6 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays and noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.  Visit us at 1620 W. Diehl Road in Naperville or online at www.napervilleareahumanesociety.org.
