On April 26, , located in CityGate Centre at the intersection of I-88 and Route 59, participated in the 20th Annual Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day. Fifty-four children ages 7-14 attended the structured program the firm developed for the event.

Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day helps get children into the workplace to better understand their parents’ daily activities, as well as to explore their many life choices. The children were able to discover how courses such as math, English and business can better prepare them for a wide variety of jobs and became aware of the skills needed to be hired in specific professions.

The children began the day with an Introduction to Calamos presentation and a tour of the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) registered building. They then attended sessions on Marketing and Investing, during which they were introduced to their two projects for the day: a team stock picking competition and a team advertisement contest. After lunch with their parents, the kids had a chance to learn about Client Services and Sales, as well as time to work on their “Why Work at Calamos?” themed advertisement projects.

During the day, the children also attended a wellness and nutrition presentation and a safety demonstration, during which they learned about security at Calamos, fire safety and fingerprinting.
