Chocolate Lovers, Indulge! Le Chocolat Opens Naperville Sister Store

NAPERVILLE, IL — Naperville’s chocolate scene is about to get bigger with the grand opening of a second Le Chocolat shop. Just three miles south of the original location, the show digs will offer old favorites like death by chocolate cake, croissants, brownies and macarons. Le Chocolat Bakery & Chocolates will offer more pastries, too. There, in the Hawthorne Square Shopping Center, ten, full-time bakers will prepare coffee cake, doughnuts and eventually, a display case full of fresh artisan sandwiches and salads.

“We opened the second location to meet the needs of our growing business, allowing 4 times the space we had before. The larger kitchen also allows more room for our bakers,” says Dolly McCarthy, Director of Sales and Marketing.

The location officially opened in September but that won't stop the owner from throwing a grand opening party Oct. 26. An RSVP is required. The Hawthorne Square location is at 1807 S. Washington Street, Suite 118. As if there wasn't enough reason to celebrate, founder and owner Cathy Bouchard is celebrating the original store's 10th anniversary. She'll be offering sweet deals to customers on the tenth day of November and December. When asked if she thought her store would make it this far, Bouchard had this to say:

“The response from the community is beyond all of my wildest imaginations” she says of the original store. In the past decade, her role hasn’t changed much other than adding more divisions and expanding product lines. She also opened a new French bistro at the downtown location. “With that comes more jobs and responsibilities but it is my passion and the passion of my incredible staff. We love what we do and it is so much fun to come to work every day. What could be sweeter than this?”

She’ll split her time evenly between both locations, although a great deal of it will be spent adding to her product lines in a design center next to the new bakery. The new location is open Tuesday - Friday from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m., Saturdays, 8-4, and is closed Sundays and Mondays.
