City Council Candidates To Discuss Issues At LWV Naperville Forum

All eight city council candidates are slated to appear at a virtual forum hosted by the League of Women Voters of Naperville.

NAPERVILLE, IL — The eight candidates running for seats on the Naperville City Council are set to attend a virtual forum hosted by the League of Women Voters of Naperville (LWV) on March 11 at 7 p.m.

Meghna Bansal, Jennifer Bruzan Taylor, Mary Gibson, Ian Holzhauer, Nag Jaiswal, Derek McDaniel, Ashfaq Syed and Benny White are vying for four available seats on the council. Elected council members will serve a four-year term.

There's no cost to attend the March 11 forum, but attendees are required to register in advance. A Zoom link will be provided after registration. In addition to Zoom, the event will be broadcast live on the League of Women Voters of Naperville Facebook page. A recording of the forum will be shared on the LWV YouTube Channel.

The forum will begin with each candidate sharing a two-minute statement. Per the event page, trained, nonpartisan moderators who do not live in Naperville will conduct the forum, presenting questions that have been submitted by residents and LWV members.

The questions will be presented to each candidate, who can take up to two minutes to share their responses. The forum will conclude with a two-minute closing statement from each candidate.
