Coroner IDs Body Found In Naperville Forest Preserve

NAPERVILLE, IL —An autopsy conducted Monday morning identified the body found in the DuPage River in Burlington Park Forest Preserve Saturday as a 44-year-old man from Naperville.

The man's cause of death has not yet been determined, but it appears foul play was not a factor, per early findings, per a news release shared Monday.

Forest Preserve District of DuPage County. Schirott said the cyclist was on trail near the river when they spotted the body and alerted police.

On Saturday, Forest Preserve District of DuPage County officials said there was not a known threat to the public and a death investigation was underway. Officials reiterate that information Monday and added that the forest preserve remains open to the public.
