$100K In Emergency Grant Funds Awarded To Local Pantries By DuPage Foundation
The funds will help five local pantries address food insecurities in DuPage County.
DOWNERS GROVE, IL — DuPage Foundation has awarded a total of $100,000 in emergency grant funds to help local pantries address food insecurity in their communities.
The money was granted to Loaves & Fishes, People's Resource Center, Outreach House, West Suburban Community Pantry and Neighborhood Food Pantries. Each organization will receive $20,000 for immediate food expenses.
According to DuPage Foundation, more than eight percent of children in DuPage County are food insecure. Of these children, close to half live in households that are not eligible for SNAP benefits.

DuPage CEO and President Mike Sitrick said in a statement, "We are deeply grateful to our many donors and partners who are joining us in meeting the moment to provide vital funding to support our most vulnerable residents during this challenging time. No one should go hungry in our community, and it’s heartening to see so many step up together for our neighbors. This is the power of collective impact at work.”
