Person Rescued As Fire Engulfs Senior Apartments In Naperville
The blaze broke out around 2 p.m. Wednesday.

NAPERVILLE, IL — One person was saved via a window when firefighters responded to a blaze at a senior living facility in Naperville Wednesday afternoon, according to a news release. The fire broke out at Katharine Manor Apartments in the 110o block of Iroquois Avenue.
Residents of the independent living apartments at 1141 block of Iroquois Avenue were evacuated after a fire started around 2 p.m., the news release said. When fire crews got to the scene, they entered the building to find "heavy smoke" inside, a news release said.
They were able to save one resident via a window on the second floor, per the news release.

The fire was determined to be under control just after 2:30 p.m. In total, it was found that six units were uninhabitable.
Four residents were displaced as a result of the blaze, but were able to find alternative housing with family or in other locations. It's estimated the fire caused at least $300,000 in damages.

No one was injured, per Naperville Fire Department, and the fire's cause is under investigation.
