NAPERVILLE, IL — A Will County judge has ruled that part of a police station conversation between Barry Lee Whelpley, 78, and police officers can be used in court, Shaw Media reports. Whelpley has been charged in the 1972 murder of Julie Ann Hanson, 15, of Naperville.

According to Shaw Media, Judge David Carlson will permit statements from the police station conversation, provided those statements do not connect to a conversation at Whelpley's home that had previously been ruled inadmissible.
