The Fallacy of the Few

SMAC (smart meter advocacy crowd) paid for by the city; equipment manufacturers, politically connected consultants and various assorted cronies would have you believe only a few people object to smart meters.

When it comes to voting only 15 to 30 percent of eligible voters exercise this precious option over local issues. Of this group only 3 to 5 percent are activists advocating politics, school issues or government boondoggles like smart meters.

Unfortunately, because of busy lives people don’t pay attention to what is going on around them until or unless it touches their lives, impacts directly their families, finances, health, safety and security. Smart meters does it all and not positively.

Since SMAC likes to say NSMA (Naperville Smart Meter Awareness group) is comprised of a few whackos and the majority of the people want them:

• Why did Naperville sneak the project through with very little notice?
• Why, once discovered, declare verbal and personal war on citizen who questioned the need for this project?
• Why after numerous smack downs at council meetings did they do everything possible to sabotage voters rights to have the issue on March’s’ ballot as a referendum?
• Why did they hire a second consultant at 500k to propagandize the benefits of smart meters and debase and demean the opposition?
• Why if these devices are so beneficial does the city have to force people to take them by treats, bulling, price extortion and police misuse?

The answer is, they knew there wouldn’t be a snow ball’s chance in hell of people accepting them if given the choice. So the question remains does the majority of Naperville citizens want these devices?  I think not!

These meters do not add one good or service to the customer and will result is significant cost increases to benefit the few at the direct expense of the many
