Listen To The Recording Of Rep. Peter Roskam's Telephone Town Hall

18,000 were on the call on Monday night

A recording of Congressman Peter Roskam's telephone town hall is now available here.

Over 18,000 people were on the Monday night call, according to Roskam's staff.

The congressman's communications director, David Pasch, told Patch in an email that the call and previous telephone townhalls were funded by the congressman's election campaign, Roskam for Congress. Pasch said this allows for a broader conversation and it avoids potential ethical issues. He also noted that the campaign does not share information gathered in the town hall registration, and he said they do not use that information for any other purpose.

Several Patch readers reported registering for the call, but some were not called or were dropped in the middle of the call.

Congressman Roskam sent out an email Thursday morning requesting donations from his supporters.

"It feels like we just wrapped up an election...and we did. And what the DCCC [Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee] has noticed is that Hillary Clinton won our district in 2016, a district that Mitt Romney won just four years ago," Roskam said in the email. "We are one of just a handful of districts across the country where a Republican won in the House, but Clinton carried the district in the Presidential race. Because of that, the DCCC thinks I'm vulnerable."

Roskam is a Republican who represents the Illinois 6th Congressional district, which includes Wheaton, Glen Ellyn, Downers Grove, Lisle, northeastern Naperville, Barrington and Palatine.
