Man Killed As Car Hits Tree In Naperville: Coroner

The 51-year-old was killed Sunday night after his vehicle crashed at Naper Boulevard and 87th Street, officials said.

NAPERVILLE, IL — A 51-year-old man was killed Sunday when his vehicle collided with a tree, the Will County Coroner's office reported.

Officials identified the man as David Overstreet. Although the coroner's office identified him as a Naperville resident, a news release from Naperville police said he lived in Lisle.

The coroner's office said Overstreet was driving when his vehicle collided with a tree Sunday at the intersection of Naper Boulevard and 87th Street.

Overstreet was pronounced dead at 8:30 p.m. Sunday.

Naperville police are investigating the crash.

On Monday, police said their initial investigation indicates Overstreet was southbound on Naper Boulevard approaching 87th Street just after 7 p.m. Sunday when his Toyota Scion crossed northbound lanes of traffic, left the road and hit a tree.
