Naper Lights, Santa Visits To Return To Water Street

NAPERVILLE, IL — Water Street is set to be all aglow with more than 150,000 lights, including strings of lights and animated, interactive displays when Naper Lights returns for its 2023 season.

The beloved holiday display will light up on Nov. 17 and close after New Year's Day. Kids can visit with Santa Claus on Water Street at the following dates and times:

  • Nov. 23, 24, 25 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Dec. 23 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Visitors can explore Water Street and stroll the Riverwalk to see a lights displays depicting a giant Christmas Bear, ice skating polar bears, sliding penguins and singing trees. Many of the lights will be programmed to sync up with holiday tunes.

Bach to Rock will perform live music on Dec. 17 and Dec. 18.

“Water Street is thrilled to be partnering with the Sunrise Rotary Club again to continue this popular family tradition. We were the first sponsors of the event years ago, so hosting on Water Street, where visitors can enjoy it every night through the holidays is awesome,” Nick Ryan, CEO of Marquette Companies, said in a statement. “We think families with relatives staying at Hotel Indigo will be delighted, and the spa, shops and restaurants on Water Street are eager to welcome you.”

There is no cost to attend Naper Lights. Once the event kicks off for the season, it will be open nightly from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
