Naperville Chamber Supports Sharing Road Costs

Chamber voted to approve cost-sharing for roads with City of Naperville and Naperville Township.

The Legislative Committee voted during its regular meeting on March 14 to support the cost-sharing proposal being proposed between the City of Naperville and the Naperville Township Road District.

The cost-sharing proposal moves to balance the financial responsibilities of both incorporated and unincorporated residents; analysis of the proposed plan indicates savings to taxpayers in excess of $800,000.

Following the Legislative Committee vote, the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors voted unanimously to formally support the cost-sharing proposal, as well.

Furthering advocacy of this proposal, all legal voters and residents of Naperville Township are encouraged to attend the Naperville Township Annual Town Meeting on April 12 at 7:00pm. This meeting will be held at the Naperville Township Road District Office, which is located at 31W331 North Aurora Road in Naperville.

Sign in for the meeting begins at 6:00pm, and only registered voters of Naperville Township may attend. Residents can find out what township they are in by calling the Naperville Township office at (630) 355-2786.

The Legislative Committee meets on the 2nd Monday of the month from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Sheraton Lisle Hotel located 3000 Warrenville Road in Lisle. The cost to attend is $15 per person and includes lunch.
