Naperville Commuters: Expect Traffic Delays

Washington Street and adjacent sidewalk will be partially closed Oct. 6 - 10.

NAPERVILLE, IL — Two southbound lanes of Washington Street will be closed Monday - Friday, Nov. 6 - 10 for construction of a new water service connection. The areas of closure will be between Jefferson Avenue and Benton Avenue downtown. Traffic can still get through with one lane in each direction, shifted into the two northbound lanes to keep the two-way traffic.

The construction should be complete by Friday, pending weather and unforeseen circumstances, according to a press release from the City of Naperville. Motorists are encouraged to find other routes during this time. For pedestrian safety, the portion of the sidewalk on the west side of Washington Street will be closed, as well. Specifically, between Van Buren Avenue and Benton Avenue. Parking along Washington Street will be restricted, as well.
