Naperville Family Displaced After Fire: Fire Dept.

Everyone made it out safely, despite the smoke.

NAPERVILLE, IL — A family is displaced after a Wednesday house fire in Naperville. The smokey home was reported to Naperville authorities at 8:07 p.m. Six minutes later, the first of the responders arrived. In total, three engines, two ladder trucks, a squad truck, two ambulances and two shift commander vehicles brought two dozen firefighters to the scene at the 1000 block of Erb Farm Court.

At the time, residents were safe and out of the home, according to a press release from the Naperville Fire Department. Crews cleared smoke and discovered a fire on the first floor rear of the home, then quickly put it out. Damages have made the home uninhabitable, officials say, and the cause is under investigation by the Naperville Fire Investigation Team. The American Red Cross assisted and will be providing support to the stricken family.
